Skirting Board
What is the most common thickness and height of skirting board?
We recommend 18mm height and 145mm thickness
What different lengths are your skirting boards available in?
3 metre and 4.2 metre
What different thicknesses of skirting board do you offer?
We mainly supply 15mm, 18mm and 25mm, 15mm is only available in 3 metre lengths
Are there any other thicknesses that you can supply for skirting board?
Yes, we can supply a range of skirting thicknesses from 9mm to 30mm
What materials can I buy your skirting board in?
We offer both MDF and Pine skirting board, although other materials are available depending on your requirements
Is your MDF skirting board moisture resistant?
Yes, all our 15mm, 18mm and 25mm skirting is supplied in premium moisture resistant MDF
What finishes are your skirting boards available in?
We offer unprimed, primed and 20% sheen satin finishes
I want my skirting boards cut to size, is this something that you can do?
Unfortunately, we don’t cut the skirting down for you, we only supply our standard lengths.
I’m undecided on whether to order MDF or Pine, what is best?
MDF is our most popular material, it’s consistent finish and durability make it perfect for skirting board. Pine offers a more natural finish, with the grain and features of a natural product.
Does the height of the profile change depending on the hight of the board?
No, all our profiles are a standard size. The profile would be identical on a 100mm or 400mm board
Can you paint my skirting board for me?
99% of the orders that we receive are for primed skirting boards. We also offer a fully finished satin option that is ready to you to fit.
Will the skirting board match my current skirting?
We never guarantee that one of our profiles will match what you have currently. Contact one of the team if you would like to check before ordering.
How do I clean my skirting board?
We don’t recommend that you use any chemicals on your skirting board. Just a lightly damp micro fibre cloth will suffice.
What tools will I need to fit my new skirting?
-You will need a mitre saw, pins, adhesive, tape measure, pencil, and hammer. If you haven’t fitted skirting board before, then contact a qualified carpenter for advice.
Are your skirting boards good quality?
We only use premium FSC rated MDF and Pine, our skirtings are made to last. Our market leading finish is what we pride ourselves on
Is all your skirting board in stock, or do you make it?
We make everything to order, giving our customers complete flexibility 100% of the time
I’m interested in a skirting height that is not on the website, can you supply other heights?
Yes, we can offer skirting boards from 60mm to 500m. If the height you are looking for is not listed, then contact one of the team who will be happy to help.
Do you wrap my skirting before dispatch?
Yes absolutely! We hand wrap every order and use cardboard corners and shrink wrap, drastically reducing damage in transit.
I want to return my skirting board; can I do this?
Yes, we accept returns on damaged skirting board. If you have ordered the wrong size/profile, we would charge a collection fee
Delivery
I need a large order delivered quickly, is that something you can do?
Yes, we offer a 2 to 3 working day express delivery option that can be applied to any order at checkout.
Is the day that I order counted as one of the delivery days?
-No, the day of order is for processing, the lead time starts from the following day. Orders for express delivery must be placed by 4PM, otherwise they will be processed on the following day.
What are your lead times for delivery?
-Our standard lead time is 3 – 6 working days, for primed and unprimed orders only. Satin orders have a 6 – 8 working day lead time.
I need to place an urgent order for delivery tomorrow, can you help?
If you order before mid-day, we will always try and help. If we can, this would be only available on unprimed boards.
Do you use a courier?
Yes, we use a national courier for most of our orders. For larger orders wo also have our own dedicated fleet of drivers.
Discounts
Do I need a discount code to get money off my order?
No, Skirting King calculates your discount as you shop. All our orders, regardless of size, will have discount applied at checkout.
What are the standard discounts that are applied as I shop?
0 – 10 Boards / 5% Discount
11 – 25 Boards / 10% Discount
25+ Boards / 15% Discount
I am looking to place a large order; do you offer further discounts?
-Yes, if you are looking to place an order that is over £1000 then please call one of the team who will give you our very best price.
I have found my order cheaper elsewhere, do you price match?
We will always do our best to price match where we can, it is always worth getting in touch with our Sales team to see if we can help.
Bespoke Profile
I have some old skirting board that I am looking to match, I can’t see anything similar on the website, is that something you can do?
Yes, we are specialists in manufacturing bespoke skirting board and architrave profiles.
What is the process for a bespoke profile?
We would require a wood sample / technical drawing. Our design team will then get to work on fabricating your bespoke tooling.
What materials are bespoke profiles offered in?
MDF, Pine and Hardwood. We will advise on the best material based on your profile requirements.
What is the lead time for a bespoke profile to be designed and manufactured?
The lead time is around 10 to 12 working days from drawing confirmation.
Is there a minimum order quantity for bespoke profiles?
Yes, we only offer bespoke profiles for orders over 30 linear metres.
Rebated Skirting Boards
I want to order a skirting board cover, to cover my existing skirting, can you help?
Yes, we offer skirting board covers in MDF only. Your current skirting must not be more than 145mm high. Please contact one of the team to discuss your enquiry.
What thickness is rebated skirting available in?
18mm and 25mm. Normally we suggest 25mm and can only offer a maximum rebate of 20mm.
What is your standard pipe rebate?
-12mm x 60mm – in the middle of the board, although we can rebate to a variety of sizes if required
What is your standard cable rebate?
10mm x 35mm – starting 15mm from the bottom of the board, although we can rebate to a variety of sizes if required
Architrave
I noticed you offer architrave door sets, what is included?
-Our door sets have enough material to cover one side of a standard single/double door. If you wanted to do a door both sides, this would be 2 sets.
How high are the legs and how wide are the heads in the door sets?
You will get enough material to do 2 metres for the legs, and 1 metre for the head. Double doors have a longer head. Enough to cover a standard sizes single/double door.
What thicknesses does your architrave come in?
15mm, 18mm, 25mm and 30mm
Can my architrave be supplied painted?
Yes, all of our architrave can be supplied either unprimed, primed and 20% sheen satin finish.
What is the most common height and thickness for architrave?
We recommend 18mm thickness and 70 mm height
What materials are your architraves available in?
We offer architrave in both MDF and Pine, although other materials are available, depending on your requirements
Is your MDF architrave moisture resistant?
Yes, all our 15mm, 18mm, 25mm and 30mm architrave is supplied in premium moisture resistant MDF
I want my architrave cut to size, is this something that you can do?
Unfortunately, we don’t cut the architrave down for you, we only supply our standard lengths.
Will the architrave match what I have currently?

Window Boards
We have a window cill that is shorter than the lengths you supply, can you cut down to size?
No, unfortunately we only offer window boards in the standard sizes that are available.
What thicknesses are your window boards available in?
18mm, 25mm and 30mm
What widths are your window boards available in?
We can make a window board at any size; our stock sizes are between 175mm and 400mm
Can you paint my window boards?
Yes, we can offer primed and satin finished window boards. If your window board is over 250mm, this will be available in unprimed only. Only one face and edge will be painted.
What lengths are your window boards available in?
2.4 metre and 3 metre long
Are your window boards made from moisture resistant MDF?
Yes, all our window boards are made from premium moisture resistant MDF
I can’t see a depth online that will fit my window, can you help?
Yes, we can make made to measure window boards, please contact one of the team if you have a size that you can’t see online.
